Tony Edward Jones, 46, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening Aug. 1, 2009, at the Sturgis Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born April 8, 1963, in Sturgis, a son to Fred N. “John” and Judy (Lung) Jones.
Tony had resided in the Sturgis and Colon area his whole life.
For the past five years he had been employed in the warehouse at Morgan Olson in Sturgis. He had also worked at Midwest Tool and Sturgis Tool and Die both in Sturgis.
Tony enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, was a fan of NASCAR and was well known for his many stories. He loved time spent with his family and many friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Jones of Sherwood; mother, Judy Jones of Sturgis; two sisters, Debra (Dave) Shipe and Dawn Casner both of Sturgis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
His father; son, Nicholas Jones; sister, Shelly Mae Jones; two nephews, Brandon Casner and Ryan Casner and grandparents and great-grandparents preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral HomesRosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091. Funeral services celebrating the life of Tony Jones will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In accordance with his wishes cremation will follow the service.
