John Rieley, 90

John Howard Rieley, 90, of White Pigeon, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at Parkview LaGrange Hospital, LaGrange, Ind.

He was born March 8, 1919, in Beaverton, a son of Erastus Clay and Catherine (Patterson) Rieley.

He was a resident of the White Pigeon and Union area the past six years, coming from Beaverton and Lake City.

He worked as a fruit picker and bee keeper. He was a member of the Vandalia Fellowship Church, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking fruit and giving away food to friends. He also enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader and writer. He taught himself to read Hebrew and Greek.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Rieley; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George; and two sisters, Ruth and Delma.

Visitation will take place 11 a.m.2- p.m. Wednesday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Mr. Rick Brubacher officiating.

Burial will follow in Mottville Township Cemetery in Mottville.
