PeeWee James, 84

Eugene “PeeWee” C. James, age 84, of Three Rivers, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on Jan. 5, 1925 in Niles, MI. the son of Wesley and Jennie (Welburn) James.

Mr. James served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a retired truck driver and heavy equipment operator. He married Thelma Kline on Feb. 26, 1949. He truly loved his family, children, and grandchildren. Mr. James was a member of Teamster Local #142 and also Long Transportation.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and son in law Candace (Michael) Vaughan. Six brothers and one sister.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving family, wife of 60 years Thelma (Kline) James, of Three Rivers; two sons, Thomas (Debbie) James, of Three Rivers, Douglas James, of Kalamazoo; five daughters, Charlene (John) Kelly, of Dorr, MI., Carol (Wesley) Dobrowolski, of Three Rivers, Christine (Thomas) Evans, of Vicksburg, Mary Ann (James) Dechnik, of Kalamazoo, and Joann (Michael) Harvey, of Three Rivers. One sister, Grace Fransisco, of Grand Rapids. A host of numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Hohner Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Anderson officiating.

Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery
