Rose McGee Jr., age 77, of Three Rivers, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 at the Borgess Medical Center following a short and sudden illness. He was born on Sept. 2, 1932 in Brookhaven, MS., the son of Roosevelt McGee and Mary (Fairman) McGee.
Mr. McGee was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and one son, Roy McGee.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Annie Lee (Martin) McGee; children, Jimmie (Catheryn) McGee, Elizabeth McGee, Bobbie (Jimmie) MacKay, Thomas McGee, Bonnie McCord, Kenny Ray McGee, Troy McGee, and Ron McGee; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, three sisters, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rose became a believer and a church member at an early age attending St. Lukes Missionary Baptist Church. In later years he held the position of Deacon at New Jerusalem Baptist Church. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 1:00 p.m at the Bethel Baptist Church, with Rev. D.W. Tolbert officiating.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.
