David Bauman, 53

David L. Bauman, 53, of Colon, passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Dave was born Dec. 29, 1955, in LaGrange, Ind., a son of the late Fred J. and Janet L. (Cerney) Bauman.

Dave had lived all of his life in the Colon area and had attended Colon schools.

He married Beth Waltke, which ended in divorce.

He had worked at Wagner Pop Corn Company and Van Guard Industries, both of Colon.

When Dave was able, he loved to hunt and fish, and he also loved animals.

He is survived by three daughters, Terra (Christopher) Pueschel, Patricia Bauman and Katrina Bauman, all of Sturgis; six grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Ann Jones and Karen Lynn Rockwell, and a brother, Leonard A. Bauman, all of Colon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Edmond Drumm.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-3 p.m. Thursday at the Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. A memorial service celebrating the life of David L. Bauman will then take place at 3 p.m., with Mr. David J. Farrell officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.

If desired, memorials may be made to the family.
