June Marie Starks, age 68 of rural Mendon, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009 at the Three Rivers Health Emergency Room. She was born in Three Rivers on April 19, 1941 the daughter of Guy and Melba (Irving) Kline and was a member of the Mendon High School class of 1959. She was married to Oscar Stark on Nov, 19, 1960 in Three Rivers and they have lived in the Mendon-Colon area since their marriage.
June had worked for the Midway Café in Mendon, Trans-O-Gram Toys in Sturgis, and Abbott Magic Co, in Colon. For many years she was the head cook at Fairview Living Center in Centreville. June enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking for her family. She liked Country music, mushrooming, Bingo, and casino trips.
June is survived by her husband, Oscar; 2 children, Bob Starks of Howe, IN and Tuesday Strarks of Mendon; 4 grandchildren, Jesse Starks, Trevor Ice, Derek Ice, and Faith Marie Starks; 2 sisters, Sylvia Everett of Dayton, TN and Sharon Lafler of Centreville; 1 brother, Wendell Kline of Leonidas; 2 sisters in law, Alice Kline of White Pigeon and Carol Kline of Bronson; several nieces, nephews and in laws. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by 3 brothers, Dale, Andrew, and James Kline.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at the funeral home with Rev.
