Ronald Morey, 65

Ronald K. Morey, 65, of Klinger Lake, Sturgis, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

He was born May 20, 1944, in Detroit, a son of Arlys and Olive (Beach) Morey. He had lived at Klinger Lake since 1983, and had lived in the White Pigeon, Bronson and Burr Oak areas. He was a 1963 graduate of Bronson High School.

On Feb. 22, 1964, he married Patricia D. Persails in Union City.

He retired in 2000 from Viking Industries in Centreville after more than 20 years of employment.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, woodworking, sports, grilling food and gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Patrica D. Morey of Sturgis; two daughters, Tammy I. (Todd) Sanderson of Mendon and Paul Jo (Kevin) Butler of Three Rivers; a son, Tim R. (Deb) Morey of Constantine; six grandchildren; five brothers, Robert D. Morey of Jenison, George C. Morey of Kalkaska, Leslie J. Morey of Nappanee, Ind., Frederick E. Morey of Shipshewana, Ind., and Jerry L. Morey of Sturgis; two sisters, Shirley Armstrong of Sturgis and Ritabell (Roger) Wilks of Kentwood; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn and Esther Morey; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Penny Sue Morey; three brothers, Melvin, Danny and Mervin; a sister, Edith Morey; and a nephew.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery, White Pigeon.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
