Ida Jane Rex, 92, of 305 S. State St., White Pigeon, died unexpectedly at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at the Three Rivers Health emergency room.
She was born Aug. 16, 1917, in Ligonier, Ind., a daughter of Gustafus and Estella (Eckert) Baker. She had lived in White Pigeon since 1936, coming from Ligonier.
On Nov. 7, 1936, she married Clarence Rex in Ligonier. He preceded her in death March 7, 1980.
She was employed at the Credit Union of the Weyerhaeuser Paper Company in White Pigeon and worked as a homemaker.
She was a member of Porter Baptist Church in Jones and past member of the White Pigeon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed church activities.
Surviving are a son, Blaine (Bobbie) Rex of Decatur; two grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Rex of Howe and Wendee Rex of Royal Oak; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Haile; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Vernon, Robert and Dewey Baker; six sisters, Ethel Baker, Lulu Shell, Josephine Sellers, Elouise Leaders, Rosallie Mock and Kathleen Albright.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m. Friday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Patrick Neff officiating. Burial will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery, White Pigeon.
