Anna Jane Stock, 91, passed away November 4, 2009 at Friendship Village Health Center. Jane was born January 23, 1918 in Three Rivers, Michigan, the daughter of Frank and Vanila (Horner) Schweitzer. She graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1936, and in 1939 became a Registered Nurse, receiving her training from Saint Camillus School of Nursing at Borgess Hospital. She was employed by Three Rivers Hospital, Borgess Hospital, and by Van Buren County Health Department. Jane was married in Three Rivers to Louis Avery Stock on January 5, 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1986. Jane is survived by three children, Sandra (Tom) Sheppardson of Scottville, Michigan, Reverend Michael (Sally) Stock Sr.of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Gary Stock of Lawton, Michigan; five grandchildren, Kenneth and Laura Sheppardson, Susan, Sheryl and Michael Stock Jr., seven great grand children, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Donald and Vinton Schweitzer, and her sister, Beatrice Cook. Jane was – at various times in her life – a member of the First Baptist Church of Three Rivers, The First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo and the Mar-O-Not class, and the First Presbyterian Church of Paw Paw. She made many personal visits and calls to church members, family and friends within the community. With her friend, Leta Fisher, she made as many as twenty calls a day. In addition to caring for her family, working at the hospital and as a school nurse, and participating in many church activities, Jane enjoyed sewing and playing the piano, and she encouraged the musical talents of all her children. A memorial service will take place at the Kiva Auditorium at Friendship Village, 1400 N. Drake Rd., on Tuesday, November 17th at 11:00 a.m., her son, Rev. Michael Stock, Sr, officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park at 3:00 p.m. November 17th. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Oakland Chapel Baptist Church & Mission Center, 915 E. Oakland, Shawnee, OK 74801.
