Laura Eicher, 71

Laura S. Eicher, age 71, of Centreville, passed away Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at her home after several months of failing health.

She was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Yoder Township, Kan., a daughter to the late Samuel R. & Elizabeth (Yoder) Borntrager.

On April 2, 1959, she married Amos W. Eicher in Bowling Green, Missouri.

Laura was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

She is survived by her husband, Amos W. Eicher of Centreville; children, Lavon (Katie) Eicher of Mifflinburg, Pa., Paul A. (Lydia) Eicher of Lewisburg, Ky., Josephine A. (Jake) Schwartz of Curryville, Mo., Cletus A. (Mary) Eicher of Leonidas, Solomon A. (Rosa) Eicher of Degraff, Ohio, Ada A. (Hosea) Hostetler of Watsontown, Pa., Margaret A. (Henry) Schwartz of Hamilton, Ind., Martin A. (Angela) Eicher of Fairview, Ind., Christian A. (Delila) Eicher of Camden, Malinda A. (Samuel) Zook of Jeff, Ill., Alma A. (Jonas) Delagrange of Cisne, Ill., Samuel A. (Fannie) Eicher of Centreville, Edith A. (Joe) Wickey of Auburn, Ind., Clemens A. (Martha) Eicher of Sturgis, Henry A. (Leah) Eicher of Shipshewana, Ind., and Sylvan A. (Martha) Eicher of Centreville; 97 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three brothers, David (Polly) Borntrager of Huntingdon, Tenn., Willard (Katie) Borntrager of Curryville, Mo., and Rudy (Anna) Borntrager of Bowling Green, Mo.; three sisters, Mary Borntreger of Ontario, Canada, Alma Borntrager of Harwood, Mo., and Elnora Girod of Owingsville, Ky., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 5 sisters; l brother; 3 brother-in-laws and one sister-in-law.

The family will receive relatives and friends all day today at the Alvin L. Troyer residence, 586l9 Rambadt Road, Centreville. Funeral services will be Tuesday, at 9:30 a.m. at the Alvin L. Troyer residence with Bishops: Alvin L. Bontrager, Henry R. Borntrager and Truman D. Borntrager officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Order Amish Cemetery in rural Centreville.

The family was assisted by the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon.
