Nora E. Ringler, age 78, of White Pigeon, passed away early Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 3, 2009, in White Pigeon Township, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The family would like to express their thanks to God that there were no other injuries in the accident.
She was born Sept. 23, 1931, in Coldwater, a daughter of the late Melvin and Marie (Henchman) Belaire.
Nora had resided in White Pigeon for the past 17 years, coming from Sturgis.
She married Joseph E. Ringler in Angola, Ind. He died Aug. 18, 2009.
Following 20 years of employment, she retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis. For several years, she and her husband were escort drivers for oversize loads.
Nora and her husband had been very active in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. She enjoyed collecting Avon, crafts and was very talented artistically. Nora taught ceramics in her home and enjoyed painting with Tri-Chem products and sold many of her crafts, ceramics and paintings at area flea markets.
She is survived by a daughter, Penny Ann Sprowl of Sturgis; a son, Dale Allen (June) Ringler of Sturgis; six Grandchildren, Heather Sprowl, Becky Marie Ringler, Jackie Nicole Ringler, Joey Ringler, Joseph Ringler III and Trent Ringler; three beloved great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; a stepson, Joseph Ringler Jr.; and a sister, Gladys Bates.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating the life of Nora Ringler and Joseph Ringler will be held at a later date to be announced.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
