Nila Mae Anderson, 82, of Three Rivers, passed away at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009. She was born to the late Frank and Gladys (Barnhart) Meyer on June 1, 1927 in Centreville.
Nila was one of 12 children and attended Three Rivers High School. She lived in many different places including Elkhart, Ind., Sweeny, Texas and Tyler, Texas before returning to live in Three Rivers. Nila will be especially remembered for her tenacity, sharp wit and loving heart. She lived her life with selfless devotion and love for her children. She was a loving mother and caregiver. She loved to read her Bible and pray.
Nila is survived by her brother Dean Meyer (Rosemary) of Elkhart, Ind.; six children, Robert (Laura) Lendman of Grandview, Mo., John (Debra) Lendman of Elkhart, Ind., Michael (Ashleigh) Anderson of Forney, Texas, Tim (Mya) Anderson of Brownsville, Texas, Shirley (Mike) Miller of Elkhart, Ind. and Alexis Anderson of Three Rivers; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her husbands, Robert Lendman Sr. and Ronald Anderson; 10 siblings, Thelma Roberts, Robert Meyer, Russ Meyer, Leo Meyer, Christian Meyer, Donald Meyer, Margaret Price, Richard Meyer, Gladys Hogden and Frank Meyer.
Services will be held Monday, Dec. 7 at Oakdale Chapel in Riverside Cemetery in Three Rivers at 2 p.m. Burial at Riverside Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel, Three Rivers.
