Raymond Lister Schleben Sr., 89, of Three Rivers, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 at Heartland Health Care Center. He was born in Atlanta, Mich. on April 1, 1920 the son of August and Hazel (Mosher) Schleben.
Raymond served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps and later the Reserves. He was multi-talented and worked throughout his life in construction, as an electrician, and also in demolition. Ray loved to roller skate, dance, collect antiques and collectables and his animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Amy Schleben; one son, Rudolph “Rusty” Schleben; one sister, Leona Smith.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children, four sons, Dan Schleben of Three Rivers, James (Carlene) Schleben of Oxnard, Calif., Raymond Jr. (Marica) Schleben of Muskegon and Troy (Barbara) Schleben, of Boisier, La.; four daughters, Jerda (Bob) Anderz, Tamie (Howard) Foelker, Randi (Ken) Kennedy and Danita (Mark) Tetzloff, all of Muskegon; 26 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22 at Hohner Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Jon Deily of the First Presbyterian Church of Three Rivers officiating.
