Evelyn Jacobs, 81

Evelyn Shirley Jacobs, age 81, of Three Rivers, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 4, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 6, 1928 in Centreville, MI. the daughter of George and Faith (Gardner) Rice.

Evelyn has been a lifetime resident of this area. She was very active in her church Howardsville Gospel Chapel and also spent many years as a volunteer for the Three Rivers Health Auxiliary. She truly loved her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Linda Jacobs.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving family, husband, Paul Jacobs, whom she married on August 8, 1948; two children, Steven (Caren) Jacobs, of Three Rivers, and Donna Krull, of Constantine; one brother, Arthur (Pat) Rice, of Centreville; one sister, Gloria Condon, of Colon; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Roberts, Lisa Chapman, Jonathan (Becky) Jacobs, Maegan (Matt) Hagenbuch, Lindsay (Daniel) Ball, Heather (Jim) McLure, Amy (Mike) Thompson, and Angela (Eric) Hallett; fourteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the Hohner Funeral Home, and 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastors Stephen Weiandt of Howardsville Gospel Chapel officiating.

Interment will be held in Prairie River Cemetery, Centreville, MI.

Memorials may be donated to the Three Rivers Health Hospice or the New Tribes Bible Institute Scholarship. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
