Hope Eilien Henschel, 92, of Westland and formerly of Three Rivers, passed away on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 at the MediLodge of Taylor. She was born on July 29, 1917 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Earl and Eva (Salisbury) Thompson.
Mrs. Henschel has been a long time resident of Three Rivers and Constantine. She was a member of the Ninth Street Methodist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star #210, Lockport Women’s Club, and the Rose Circle of United Methodist Women.
Mrs. Henschel was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward L. Heslet Sr. in 1963, and also her second husband, Orville Henschel, whom she married in 1972.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving family, one daughter, Kay (Patrick) Jorgensen of Dearborn; two sons, Edward L. (Mary) Heslet Jr. of Algonac and Thomas E. (Charlene) Heslet of Constantine; three step children, Betty (Henry) Welch of Kalamazoo, Marlene (Dick) Lee of Kalamazoo and Ronald Henschel of Three Rivers; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Stilwell officiating.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to the Ninth Street Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
