Janice Leone (Karsten) Barth, 75, of Three Rivers, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at the Heartland Health Care Center after a 15-year battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 29, 1934 in Holland, Mich. the daughter of Nelson and Alyda (Spyker) Karsten.
Jan was an original member of the Klompen Wooden Shoe Dancers at Holland High where she attended school. She also served as the Deputy Supervisor for Lockport Township for 20 years and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Three Rivers since 1962.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving family, husband of 55 years, Martin E. Barth, whom she married in on Sept. 1, 1954; one son, Andrew (Mary Alice) Barth of Columbia, S.C.; one daughter, Brenda Jann Barth of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Robert (Nancy) Karsten of Tuckasegee, N.C. and Jack (Martha) Karsten of Blowing Rock, N.C. and Leesburg, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the summer.
