Mary Jane Hubbard, age 91 of Schererville, IN and formerly of Three Rivers, died Monday Jan. 4, 2010 at the Community Hospital in Munster, IN. She was born in Fremont, Ohio on April 12, 1918 the daughter of the late William and Hazel (Brown) Conway. Mary grew up in Wyandotte, MI where she graduated from St. Patrick Catholic High School in 1936. During WWII she worked for a ship builder as part of the war effort. She was married to Glenn Hubbard on April 21, 1951 in Wyandotte. Soon after, they moved to Three Rivers where Mary held clerical jobs at Huddlestun Lumber, the Three Rivers Medical Clinic, the Three Rivers Credit Bureau, and the St. Joseph County Land Use Office. Mary served on the Three Rivers Parks & Cemetery Board. She also volunteered as an election clerk and for the Three Rivers Community Chest.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers where the Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The funeral mass for Mary Jane Hubbard will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Rev. Father Mark Vyverman officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials will be directed to the Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Association. An online register is available at www.efhchapel.com
