Kenneth Lemley Sr., 79

Kenneth L. Lemley Sr., 79, a resident of Churubusco, Ind., passed away Feb. 12, 2010, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, Ind., following an extended illness.

Mr. Lemley was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Kalamazoo, a son of Harry harold and Caroline (Carpenter) Lemley, and spent his formative years in Marcellus.

As a young man he served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Nov. 24, 1968, he married Donna Jean (Reynolds) Reno in Centreville. The couple lived in Centreville for a period before moving to Churubusco in 1985.

Employed as a concast worker with Essex Wire, he retired from there in 1992 after 30 years.

Surviving relatives included his wife, Donna Jean Lemley; three children, John (Sue) Lemley of Centreville, Kenneth Lemley Jr. of Churubusco, and Doris (Richard) Irwin of Centreville; a brother, Harold (Terri) Lemley of Allegan; a sister, Pat Palmer of Jenison; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Caroline “Toots” Berry.

At the request of Mr. Lemley, there will be no calling hours, and private family services will be held at a later date.
