Laura J. O’Shea, age 88, of Shelbyville, IL., passed away on Wendesday, February 3, 2010 at her home. She was born on July 13, 1921 in Proctor, Vermont, the daughter of Alfred and Mary Cecilia Ellis Dutelle.
Laura married Francis James O’Shea on December 10, 1949. They moved to Shelbyville from Three Rivers, MI. in May 1975. She was a secretary for McElroy Aviation in Shelbyville for many years. Laura was active in the Senior Citizens Center in Shelbyville and was a member of the Sullivan Civic Center, where she was an avid swimmer. Her house was a loving home to sixteen very spoiled cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francis on April 8, 2006; and sister, Lucille Serviss.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Linda (Jim) Wetherbee, of Three Rivers, sister-in-law, Mary Clossey, of Richland, WA; grandchildren, Nichole (Herb) Nash, Jennifer Wetherbee and friend Tonia Norlin, and Brian Wetherbee; one great-grandchild, Kylee Shea Nash. Several nieces and nephews; and many special friends, including Bob and Marilyn Main of Shelbyville and Rick and Sue Preston, of Findlay.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Carr of the Corey Church of the Nazarene officiating.
