Marion Helene Westgate, age 85, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010 at Bronson Methodist Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Newberg Twp., Cass County on Oct. 23, 1924 the daughter of Ward and Wilma (Withers)Seager.
Marion has been a life long resident of this area. She was united in marriage for over 66 years to Walter Westgate on July 3, 1943 in Cassopolis, MI. She was employed by the Jones Post Office as a clerk for over 23 years.
Marion’s true love were her family. She was an excellent homemaker and cook and enjoyed hosting Sunday Dinners for all of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Warren, Walter, and Wayne and one sister, Waneta.
Marion leaves to cherish her memory, her loving family, husband, Walter Westgate, of Three Rivers; one daughter, Karen (Philip) DuFour, of Three Rivers; one son, Larry (Nancy) Westgate, of Jones, MI.; two sisters, Millie (Fran) Lamb, of Jones, MI., and Martha Seager, of Ludington, MI.; one brother, Wilbur (Alice) Seager, of Jones, MI.; four grandchildren, Chris (Juli) Westgate, Pam (Jason) Vary, Nick (Marci) Westgate, and Rob DuFour; one step-granddaughter, Erin McElmurry; four great-grandchildren, Ashli Westgate, Matthew and Annalise Vary, and Logan Westgate; one step-great-granddaughter, Kayla Zelenock; one great-great grandchild, Sammy Westgate; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Patrick Neff of the Porter Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will be held in Shavehead Lake Cemetery.
