Domonic Barberis Jr., 73, of Colon, died March 23, 2010, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born April 8,1936, in White Pigeon, a son of Domonic and Gleda (Willis) Barberis Sr.
He lived a brief time in Colon and Leesburg, Fla., for 24 years, coming from White Pigeon.
He graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1954 and from Great Lakes Bible College in Lansing.
On May 4, 1986, he married Vivian M. Osborn in White Pigeon.
He worked in sales and management in the recreational vehicle industry and was a member of the White Pigeon Church of Christ. He was a Salvation Army chaplain and secretary and treasurer for the Florida Manufacturing Housing Association Civics Club. He was a chaplain for the Power Boat Association in Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Barberis of White Pigeon; three daughters, Debra Kay (Donald) Whitsel of Colon, Andonicka Joan barberis and Nicola M. Barberis, both of Florida; two sons, Scott S. Barberis of Arizona and Stephen G. Barberis of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a stepson, James Loden of White Pigeon; two sisters, Carol L. (Ray) Dorsey of Kansas and Anna M. (George) Cheney of Constantine; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Monte Barberis; and a brother, Donald Barberis.
There will be no visitation; cremation has been conducted. Services will be held at 11 a.m. April 10 at the Farrand Funeral Home, White Pigeon. Burial will be in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
