Dorothy Stiver, 84

Dorothy Marie Stiver, age 84, of Constantine passed away Thursday, March 25th, 2010 at the Three Rivers Health Hospice Suite. She was born in Lockport Township, on September 25, 1925, a daughter of John William and Josephine Jennie (Hasbrouck) Bolender. On February 9, 1946 she married Paul Stiver in Centreville. He preceded her in death December 26, 2000. Dorothy was a lifelong homemaker and operated the family farm with her husband. She also worked at Denton Mills, the Home restaurant and Bolender’s clothing store. She enjoyed embroidery, fishing and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Dorothy loved to watch movies and her favorite soap operas.

Surviving are her daughter Judy M. (Jay) Suhonen, Centreville, son Mike Stiver, Constantine, grandchildren Kimberly K. (Rick) Clark, Sturgis, Janet M. Suhonen, Centreville, Kathy Suhonen, Franklin, TN, Jeremy Stiver, Centreville and Phillip Stiver, Constantine, great grandchildren Paul Tyler Clark, Hunter Allen Clark, Katelynn Mathes and Leah Stiver, sisters Jean Miller, Sturgis, Nancy Wagner, Lansing, brothers Paul Bolender, Centreville, Dick Bolender, Florida, Red Bolender, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 pm at Eley Funeral Homes in Centreville, where Religious Services will follow at 4:00 p.m. Three Rivers Hospice Chaplain Karla Kauffman will officiate. Interment Services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m at Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville. Memorial contributions may be made to Three Rivers Health Hospice.
