Tina Albright, 75

Jantina “Tina” Albright, age 75 of Mendon, died Sunday Feb. 28, 2010 at her home following a long illness. She was born in Chicago on Nov. 21, 1931 the daughter of Garmt and Henrietta (Vienstra) Hamminga. The family moved to Mendon in 1949, where Tina met and married Duanne B. Albright on June 18, 1954. Tina worked as a cook for Mendon Public Schools for over 25 years, was a Girl Scout Leader, and enjoyed crocheting in her spare time.

Tina is survived by her husband, Duanne B. Albright of Mendon; four children and their spouses, Dianne (Aaron) Hemming of Interlochen, Duanne (Joy) Albright of Elk Rapids, Darlene (Mike) Schmidt of Charlevoix, and Jerry (Jan) Albright of Detroit; six grandchildren, Brent, Ashley, Mersadz, MeeShann, TJ, and Teresa; one great-granddaughter, Lilly; one sister, Henrietta Hamminga of Mendon; two brothers, Clarence (Mary Jane) Hamminga of Mendon, and Cornelius Hamminga of Lansing; several nieces and nephews; and her poodle, Buddy. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gerrit, Henry and Frank Hamminga; three sisters, Jane Hamminga, Imogene Merchant, and Beatrice Cook.

Cremation has been conducted. A private memorial service will be held later. Memorials will be directed to the Three Rivers Health Hospice, 222 S. Main, Three Rivers, MI 49093.
