Joseph Allan Lindsay, 28, of Sturgis, Mich.,entered into eternal rest and peace Friday afternoon, Feb. 26, 201, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich.
He was born Feb. 13, 1982, in Sturgis, Mich., a son to David and Polly (Feller) Lindsay.
Joseph had resided in Sturgis his whole life.
He had been employed at several area businesses, including Telemark in Sturgis.
Joe enjoyed cooking, fishing and had an appreciation for cartoons and animation. He truly cherished time spent with his children.
He is survived by one daughter, Kaidence Ann Lindsay of Sturgis; one son, Dominick Lindsay of Three Rivers; mother, Polly Lindsay of Sturgis; father; David (Karen) Lindsay of Sturgis; one sister, Jessica (Andy) Kiss of Sturgis; two nieces, Lindsay and Taylor Kiss; grandparents, Charles and Christine Feller of Sturgis and Harriett and Martyn Smith of Sturgis and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6-8: p.m. Tuesday and 4-6:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, (269) 651-2331. A scripture service celebrating the life of Joseph Lindsay will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by the reciting of the Rosary. The Rev. Father Richard Altine of the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sturgis will officiate.
In accordance with Joseph’s wishes his body will be gifted to the Anatomical Donations Program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. Private burial of the ashes will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis at a later date.
