Marie Tyree, 89

Marie Maxine (Crouch) Tyree, age 89, of Centreville, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 28, 2010. Maxine was born on August 14, 1920 in Kalamazoo. She and her first husband Donald Crouch moved to Centreville from Kalamazoo over 30 years ago. Following Donald’s death, she met and married her second husband, Rufus Tyree. They lived happily in Centreville for 14 years before moving to a retirement community in Beavercreek Ohio only weeks ago. Maxine was a long-time member of the Centreville Baptist Church, and loved the church and its people. She was a devoted mother and treated all with kindness and compassion. She was “Mom” to many.
Maxine was preceded in death by her first husband of 56 years, Donald Eugene Crouch; brothers L.G. and Harold Krull, step-daughter Kay McNally; grandson Bradley Dennis Crouch and great grandson Benjamin Thomas Dalton.  She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Rufus Tyree; sons Dennis Eugene (Anne) and Philip Don (Arlyn) Crouch, grandsons Scott (Tamara), Daniel (Christina) and Jack Crouch; granddaughters Lisa (Russ) Dalton, and Kristin Crouch; great grandchildren Dylan Carter; Nathan, Anna Grace, Maria and Joseph Dalton; Alexandra, Declan, Spencer, Thomas and Jackson Crouch; stepchildren Glenn (Donna) Tyree, Gwen (Andrew) Johnson; step-grandchildren Scott, Matthew, Pete, Deborah and Emilee; and several step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held at the Centreville Baptist Church, 115 East Burr Oak St, Centreville, MI, on Saturday April 3rd at 12:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Dave Peterson. After a snack/lunch at the Church, a service of Christian burial will follow at Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park, 3941 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo, MI.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Centreville Baptist Church in lieu of flowers. Sympathy messages may be left at www.eleyfuneralhomes.com.
