Stephen O. “Steve” Musser, 59, of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Goshen General Hospital in Goshen, Ind.
He was born Aug. 10, 1950, in Goshen, a son to the late Oliver G. and Norma G. (Hostetler) Musser.
Steve had been a resident of Sturgis most of his life except for 10 years, he lived in Crystal River, Fla. He graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 1968.
Steve had been a bartender all of his life and was employed by the Sturgis Bowl for 15 to 20 years, B&W Tavern for eight to 10 years, and since 1988 at the Sturgis Eagles. He has always been very active at his employers, helping to organize bowling tournaments, golf outings and most recently at the Eagles with their Helping Hands program. Steve was a fan of NASCAR, an avid bowler, and enjoyed visiting Las Vegas.
Surviving are a sister, Barbara (David) DeLisle of Bronson; two brothers, Rick Musser of Sturgis and Dennis (Cathy) Musser of Punta Gorda, Fla.; several nieces; three great-nephews; and an aunt, Evelyn Yoder of Bradenton, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Musser.
The family will receive friends and relatives from noon-3 p.m. Friday at the Hackman Family Funeral Home Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Stephen O. Musser will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Philip Wyns of Christian Fellowship Center officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
