David Davenport, 28

David Michael Davenport, age 28, of Moreno Valley, Calif., and formerly of Bronson, died Thursday, May 20, 2010, in Loma Linda University Medical Center from injuries received in a motorcycle accident in Colton, Calif.

He was bon in Kalamazoo, Mich., on March 8, 1982, the son of Danny and Claudia (Abler) Davenport. David grew up in Bronson where he graduated from Bronson High School with the class of 2000. He graduated from Western Michigan University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in education. David did his student teaching at Centreville High School where he was also an assistant football coach. He then moved to California where he first taught at a San Vallejo Middle School, and then at San Gorgonio High School where he coached volleyball and was an assistant cheerleading coach in San Bernadino.

David is survived by his parents, Dan and Claudia Davenport of Bronson; one brother, Jonathan Davenport of Grand Rapids; one sister, Angela Neubauer of Bronson; two nephews, Elijah Neubauer and Charles Stewart; one niece, Vanisha Stewart; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Richard and Olive Abler and paternal grandparents, Lester and Marian Davenport.

Arrangements are still pending. Local funeral time and place will be announced by the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon.

Memorials will be directed to the David Davenport Scholarship Fund.
