Donnie Lee Parrish, age 58, of Sikeston, Missouri, passed away May 19, 2010, after a battle with cancer.
He was born in Pontiac, Mich., Feb. 23, 1952, to parents Mary Kathleen Parrish Burmeister and Norman Earl Parrish (Deceased).
Donnie graduated from Pontiac Northern High School. After high school, Donnie joined the U.S. Army and spent time in Korea. He married Tina and they had a son Jason. They moved to Arkansas and lived there for several years. Donnie later moved to Sikeston, Missouri where he lived many years with his dear friend, Shelby Hawlett and daughter, Iona (Pistol). Donnie spent the last years of his life in Sikeston.
Donnie is survived by his mother, Mary Kathleen Parrish Burmeister; a son, Jason Parrish and daughter-in-law Nikki Parrish; grandson, Colton Parrish; step-daughter, Iona Pistol Hawlett; brother, Barry Parrish; and sister-in-law, Lana Parrish; sisters, Priscilla Terwedo and Debra Carleton; brother-in-law, Tim Carlton; nieces, Elizabeth Parrish, Katy Boothe, Lacy Terwedo and nephews David Parrish, Jeffrey Parrish and Lucas Terwedo.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon with Mr. David J. Farrell officiating.
A luncheon will be served immediately following the service at the Colon Fire Station, 31652 M-86. Donations to the family can be made in care of Mary Burmeister, 473 S. Burr Oak Rd., Apt. 3, Colon, MI 49040.
