Emily Samson, 73

Emily Ann Samson, age 73 of Mendon, died Saturday May 15, 2010 in Three Rivers. She was born in Battle Creek on Dec. 30, 1936 the daughter of the late Lawrence and Berzetta (Hacker) Chalmers. She was a 1954 graduate of Marshall High School and had been employed at several area factories and restaurants. Emily was married to Franklin Bloss in 1955. They were later divorced. She was married to Floyd Samson in 1967. Floyd died ten years ago.

Emily is survived by 7 children, Robert Bloss of Mishawaka, James Bloss (Tammie) of Bronson, Rick Bloss (Kelly) of Angola, Terry Bloss (Tracy) of Mishawaka, Timothy Samson of Mendon, Jane Ellis (Todd) of California, and Linda Jurhs (Jack) of Colon. 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 step-children, Ann Crotser (Rex) of Mendon, Marilyn Bennett (Larry) and Debra Weinberg (Michael) both of Fulton, and Lori Masnari (Ray) of Three Rivers; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren;

2 sisters, Carolyn Hughes (Leo) and Norvella Cole both of Burlington.

Cremation has been conducted. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday May 19, 2010 in Mendon Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. An online register is available and condolences may be left at www.eickhofffuneralhome.com
