Walter Charles Buscher, age 80, of Three Rivers, MI. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family, in White Pigeon, MI., it was a cloudy day, but when Walt left this earth the clouds separated and the sun came out. Walt was born on April 5, 1930 to William and Blanche (Dean) Buscher in Three Rivers, MI.
Walt attended Andrews grade school and Three Rivers High School. Walt wed Joyce M. Ford on Feb. 10, 1951 in Three Rivers, MI. Walt then joined the U.S. Army in April 1951 and was discharged in April 1953. He worked for the Three Rivers Dairy, Ross Labs of Sturgis, MI., Riverside Cemetery of Three Rivers, Docks Foundry, and G&G Construction as well as Continental Can Co. where he retired.
He and Joyce moved to St. Helen, MI. and decided retirement wasn’t for them. They purchased a gas station and convenient store and named it Buscher’s Country Store. They sold the store and moved to Houghton Lake, MI., where they purchased the Family Restaurant in Prudenville, MI.
After selling the restaurant, Walt went to work for Alice Hardaway, at her party store, in Houghton Lake. He was offered a job at White Tails golf course in Houghton Lake where he worked until he completely retired after 12 years. He and Joyce then moved to Mt. Pleasant in 2000. In 2009 he and Joyce moved back to White Pigeon until his passing.
Walt loved bowling, fishing, especially ice fishing, golfing, hunting, mushrooming, and going to the casino. Walt loved being outdoors, with family and friends, and spending time in his garden tending to his rose bushes.
Walt was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Rolland, William, Harold, Gerald, Warren “Tubby” Buscher and four sisters, Pauline, Cleo, Barbara and Margaret Ann.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Joyce (Ford) Buscher, of White Pigeon; daughter, Kathy (Ken) Winders, of Marquette, MI.; son, Walter “Bud” (Gina) Buscher II, of Mottville, MI.; four grandchildren, Jodie (Jeff) Rogers, Chad (Julie) Barnick, Holly (Dave) Swartz, and Maria Buscher; eleven great-grandchildren, Kyle, Eric and Jamie Rifenberg, Robert & Kendra Kehring, Caiden Rogers, Trinity and Corbin Barnick, Troy and Morgan Schneider, Zoe Swartz. Step-grandson, Nick Rogers. Miss Valarie- his side-kick.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service at Riverside Cemetery will be held Fri, May 28th at 11am.

Walters great-granddaughter Zoe wrote the following before he passed: “Get Well Grandpa, I hope that you will fell well. I will miss you very much. So that’s y I hope you fell better because I love you Grandpa. I know you’ll be in a better place Grandpa but I’ll oess (always) love you. Get better Grandpa. Love Zoe”
