Maynard J. Edson, 82, of White Pigeon, died Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Three Rivers Health, following a short illness
He was born Feb. 20, 1928, in LaGrange County, Ind., a son of Myrle J. and Lela Fae (Mock) Edson.
He had been a resident of Fish Lake and White Pigeon all of his life.
He was a 1946 graduate of Scott High School.
On Oct. 15, 1950, he married Marilyn Stubig at White Pigeon United Methodist Church.
He retired from construction sales and service in White Pigeon after 42 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Edson, of White Pigeon; a daughter, Judy Oxender of Constantine; a son, Monte Edson of White Pigeon; a grandson, Matthew Oxender of Shipshewana, Ind.; a great-grandson, Nicholas Oxender; two sisters, Susan (Robert) Hill of Sturgis and Linda (Richard) Troyer of White Pigeon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Diana Aulbach and Patricia Kalb.
Visitation will take place 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wilbur Brandli officiating.
Burial will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
