Aaron Hochstedler, 63

Aaron A. Hochstedler, age 63, of Burr Oak, passed away Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at the home of his brother Timothy Hochstedler in Colon, after a short illness.

Aaron was born Sept. 23, 1946, in Sturgis, a son of the late Alvin E. and Mary M. (Yoder) Hochstedler.

He had lived most of his life in the rural Burr Oak and Colon area, where he had worked in farming. Aaron was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

He is survived by eight brothers and sisters, Willis Hochstedler of Nunica, Wilma Hochstedler of Burr Oak, Alvin (Anna) Graber of LaGrange, Ind., Paul W. (Miriam) Yoder of LaGrange, Ind., Edward (Edna) Hochstedler of Gambier, Ohio, Tobie (Leah) Hochstetler of Mendon, Timothy (Violet) Hochstedler of Colon and Irvin (Catherine) Yoder of Keosauqua, Iowa; an uncle, Aaron (Sylvia) Yoder of Mio; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Magdalena Mae Hochstedler, in 1976.

The family will receive relatives and friends after noon Friday and all day Saturday at the Tobie Hochstetler home, 27057 Spring Creek Road, Mendon.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Tobie Hochstetler residence, with Bishop LeRoy Borkholder and ministers, Norman Yoder and Dan Hochstetler officiating.

Burial will follow at the Old Order Amish Cemetery, Centreville.

Arrangements were made by Schipper Funeral Home in Colon.
