Jeanette North, 82

Jeanette L. North, age 82, of Covert, and formerly of Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at her home.

Jeanette was born March 2, 1928, in LaGrange, Ind., a daughter of Percy and Helen (Lublow) Oswalt.

She lived in Sturgis for many years before moving to Covert in November 2009.

Jeanette enjoyed doing embroidery, collecting knick-knacks and gardening, especially her outdoor flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Don, whom she married Jan. 24, 1964, in Wolcottville, Ind.; three daughters, Carolyn (James) Sexton of Michigan City, Ind., Sherry Garrison of Comstock Park and Billie (Tim) Cummings of Covert; a stepson, Edwin (Dolly) North of Wolcottville; a stepdaughter, Susan North of Montana; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Byers of Three Rivers and Betty Barker of Montebello, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, William and Winton Oswalt; and a sister, Nancy Mansmith.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
