Lyle R. Swinehart, age 77, of White Pigeon passed away Thursday, August 26th, 2010 at his home. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 11, 1933, a son of Therlow and Mary Fern (Myrick) Swinehart. Lyle served in the US Army from 1953 – 1955. He worked for Niblock Excavating and he also owned a small engine repair shop. On April 22, 1973 he married Helen Bender in Union. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2005. Lyle was a member of the American Legion in Bristol and Mottville.
Surviving Lyle are his daughters Tammy (Faron) Weber, Constantine, Nancy (George) Hefley, Fremont, IN, son Roy (Sherry) Swinehart, Mottville, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen Swinehart, daughter Cindy Swinehart, sons Robert, Thomas, Sr., and Randy Swinehart, granddaughter April Heslet, grandson Brian Swinehart and brother Darrell Swinehart.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Interment of ashes will be at the Mottville Twp. Cemetery.
