Gwen Hall, 64

Gwendolyn Lois (Wilcox) Hall, 64, of Shipshewana, Ind., passed away Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at her home.

She was born Nov. 29, 1945, in Coldwater.

Gwen had resided in Shipshewana for the past 12 years. Prior to that, she had lived in Sturgis, and her early life was spent in Bronson, where she graduated from Bronson High School with the class of 1964.

She was currently employed by Kmart in Sturgis. For 26 years, she had worked at the Kirsch Company in Sturgis until the company closed.

Following the closing of the Kirsch Company, she enrolled at Glen Oaks Community College, where she received an associate degree in computer science.

Gwen was a member of the Eagles Lodge #1314 and she enjoyed working in her yard and loved her cat, Missy.

She is survived by a son, Paul (Dee) Kruszka of Sturgis; two grandchildren, Leia Smith and Nathan Smith, both of Sturgis; a great-granddaughter, Maddilyn Sanders of Sturgis and mother, Wildah Lewis of Coldwater; three sisters, Shirley Jones of Battle Creek, Glenna McCreery of Bronson and Deanna (James) Bond of Sturgis; a brother, David (Dawn) Wilcox of Quincy; a niece; and nine nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Edward Wilcox.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis.

The visitation will be followed by a procession to Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis where a graveside service celebrating the life of Gwendolyn Lois Hall will begin at 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
