Robert L. Goodwin Jr., 55, of Three Rivers, formerly of New Mexico, passed away on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 at the Kairos Dwelling Home for the terminally ill. He was born on April 21, 1955 in Three Rivers, the son of Robert Sr. and Gwendolyn (Buys) Goodwin.
Robert graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1973. He later worked in the oil fields in New Mexico.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Goodwin Sr., and his dad, Lisle McLaughlin.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving family, two sons, Corey Robert Goodwin, now serving in the National Guard, and Joel Lisle Goodwin, of Three Rivers; his mother, Gwendolyn Goodwin-McLaughlin; three sisters, Linda (David) Ingraham, Cheryl (Richard) Thomas and Barbara (Mark) Dilley; seven nephews, Andrew, David, Marcus, Robert, Jonathan, Benjamin and Christopher, as well as many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Riverside Cemetery, with Pastor John Hill officiating.
Military Honors will be held under the auspices of the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170.
Memorials may be donated to the Kairos Dwelling Home for the Terminally Ill or Borgess Health No One Dies Alone Program. Envelopes available at Hohner Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
