Gyla Ann Notestine, 73, of Riverview, Fla., died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010.
She was born Sept. 3, 1937, a daughter of Wiley DeWitt and Hilda DeLucenay DeWitt. In 1956, she married Gordon Duane Notestine.
Gyla worked many different jobs, mainly in customer service, over the course of her life in Michigan, Tennessee and Florida. She enjoyed being around lots of people, whether she was serving them or enjoying personal time with them. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time taking care of her grandchildren.
Gyla is survived by four sons, Robie (Debbie) Notestine of Singapore and Ft. Worth, Texas, Jack (Paula) Notestine of Baton Rouge, La., Rick Notestine of Three Rivers, Mich., and Joe Notestine of Brandon, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Torri, Karsen and Joey Notestine of Brandon, Fla., Jayla Notestine of Baton Rouge, La., Jessica Notestine of Three Rivers, Mich., and Katie Notestine of Phoenix, Ariz.
Gyla was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gordon; and an infant son, Randy Notestine.
Cremation has taken place, and a service was held for friends and family by The Moose Club in Riverview, Fla.
