Marlene J. McDonald, 67, of Elkhart, Ind., died at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Elkhart. She was born March 7, 1943 in Sturgis.
Surviving are four sons, Fred Casner and Ricky Casner both of Sturgis, Mich., Kevin (Carla) McDonald of Plymouth, Ind., and Tracy (Caroline) McDonald of Elkhart, Ind.; two daughters, Ronda (Terry) Bailey of Milford, Ind., and Tammy (Kelly) McKamey of Granger, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Also surviving are a sister, Evelyn McVicker of Casa Grande, Ariz.; two brothers, Earl and Roger Carr, both of Sturgis; and her former husband, Clair McDonald of Phoenix.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Ryan Casner.
Marlene was a homemaker and beloved mother. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home in Elkhart. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Dick Dunn will officiate the service. Cremation will take place with burial at a later date in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
