Myrtle Paul, 92

Myrtle L. Paul, 92, formerly of Eau Claire and Sturgis, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Millers Merry Manor in Lagrange, Ind., where she had resided for the past 10 years.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the Bowerman Funeral Home in Eau Claire, where friends are invited to visit with the family from 11 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Caldwell Cemetery, Eau Claire. Online messages may be left at www.allredfuneralhome.com, and memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Myrtle was born Feb. 10, 1918, in Dowagiac, Mich.,the daughter of Orville and Myrtle (Smith) Ragan.

She married Dawson G. Paul on Sept. 21, 1940, in Louisville, Ky., and in addition to raising their family, she had worked as a clerk in the Eau Claire Post Office for 21 years until her retirement in 1980.

She had been a member of the Eau Claire Community United Church of Christ, and she had served as a volunteer at Berrien General Hospital. The Pauls moved to Sturgis, Mich., in 1992.

Surviving are a daughter, Randa Kathleen Nicholson of Sturgis; a son, Peter (Kathy) Paul of Wellston, Mich.; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Vera Harris of Marcellus.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Dawson; a daughter, Terry Dickson; a sister, Helen Ragan; and two brothers, Merle and Richard Ragan.
