Shirley Ann Chrisman, age 74, of Constantine, passed away Thursday, October 21st, 2010 at Three Rivers Health Hospital in Three Rivers. She was born in Constantine on December 2, 1935, a daughter of Leslie and Delia (Harvey) Chrisman. Shirley continued to reside in the same home in which she was born. She began school at Tracy Country School and graduated from Constantine High School in 1953. Shirley appreciated her classmates and stayed in touch throughout the years.
Shirley began her career as a bookkeeper in 1953 working at J H Kash, Inc. in White Pigeon for 22 years. She then worked for his son Jerry Kash for 35 years. She worked for a total of 57 years for the Kash Family. Shirley was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine, and she participated in the Women’s Group and many functions. She enjoyed reading, travel, music, cooking, baking & crocheting. Shirley loved doing things to help others. She enjoyed spending time with her cherished family and friends and had a huge heart and love for animals.
Shirley never married but cherished all of her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She is survived by her brother Richard Chrisman, sisters Agnes Blough, and Wanda VanderMoere, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary, in infancy, and Pauline Hershberger, brothers Harry and Orley Chrisman, nephew Allen Chrisman and niece Joslyn Blough.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine with Reverend Dennis Smith officiating. Interment will be at Constantine Cemetery.
