William Bukoski, 87

William L. Bukoski, age 87 of Three Rivers, died Saturday Oct. 9, 2010 at Kairo’s Dwelling Hospice Home in Kalamazoo. He was born in Detroit, MI on Aug. 8, 1923 the son of Philip J. and Regina Bukoski. Following High School he served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Army during WWII. William was married to Arlene Mary Russell in Bad Axe on Sep. 25, 1948. They moved to Three Rivers in 1972 from the Marshall area. Arlene died on March 12, 1994. 

William was an auto and truck mechanic, and was the equipment foreman for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) in Southern Michigan. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Three Rivers, and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, and repairing items. 

William is survived by 3 sons, Rick (Linda) Bukoski of L’Anse, MI, Dennis (Sue) Bukoski of Tekonsha, and Philip (Diana) Bukoski of Three Rivers; 2 daughters, Denise (Greg) Kinney of Oxford, OH, and Debra Bukoski of Kalamazoo; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Christina Woodcox of Oxford, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 4 sons; and a brother, Arthur Bukoski. 

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 13, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Three Rivers with Rev. Mark Vyverman officiating. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday in St. Columbkille Cemetery near Sheridan, MI. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
