Elsie H. Yoder, age 93, formerly of Sturgis, passed away, Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Centreville.
Elsie was born Jan. 2, 1917, in South Chicago, Ill., a daughter to the late Ernst and Emma (Milbrandt) Willman.
Elsie married Manasses Yoder in April of 1955. He preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 1991.
Elsie was a homemaker and had made her home at Fairview since 1991, coming from Sturgis. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis.
She is survived by two sisters, Louise Hotovy of Sturgis and Helen Noe of Constantine; a brother, Ernie Willman of Constantine; and seven nieces and nephews; George Hollopeter, Diana Mims, Mark Hotovy, Mary Margaret Eagan, Barbara Eckert, Mike Willman, and Ernie Willman
She was preceded in death by a sister Emma Hollopeter, and brother Emil Willman.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Elsie H. Yoder will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis, with Pastor Calvin Kolzow Jr. and Pastor Michael A. Klafehn officiating. Burial will follow in Nottawa Township Cemetery. If desired the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Elsie to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
