Jessica Ann Zickafoose, 19, of Sturgis, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 21, 2010, in Burr Oak Township due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Nov. 24, 1990, in Statesville, NC, the only daughter of Randy and Kimberly (Vanzant) Zickafoose.
Jessica had resided in Sturgis most of her life and graduated from Sturgis High School with the class of 2008.
Jessica loved driving, being on Facebook playing Farmville, texting, photography and spending time with her family and many friends. Jessica was always willing to listen or lend a hand to anyone in need. She was a loving and caring aunt that always had time for her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her parents, Randy and Kim Zickafoose of Sturgis; three brothers, Scott Zickafoose of Sturgis, Matt (Jessica) Zickafoose of Rochester, Ind., and Brandon (Tonya) Zickafoose of Sturgis; two nieces, Taylor Zickafoose and Regan Zickafoose; two nephews, Damien and Heydin Zickafoose; grandparents, Larry and Jackie Vanzant of Sturgis; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by one nephew, Dominic Zickafoose; and great-grandparents, Earl and Mary Zickafoose, Joe and Dorothy Vanzant and Lawrence and Dorothy Perry.
In accordance with family wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering of friends and family to celebrate the life of Jessica Zickafoose and the sharing of memories and a meal will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Captain John J. Kelley Post #1355 VFW, 264 W. Fawn River Rd., Sturgis, MI.
The Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel of Sturgis is entrusted with the arrangements.
