Steven Lloyd Hanes, Sr., age 62 of Three Rivers, died Friday Nov. 19, 2010 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Three Rivers on July 5, 1948 the son of Lloyd H. and Wilda (Bowman) Hanes and was a lifetime resident of the Three Rivers area. He attended Three Rivers Schools before serving with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. Steven had worked at several area companies, most recently at Coachman R-V in Middlebury. He enjoyed outdoor activities, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Steven was married to Theresa Losik on Aug. 26, 1970 in Three Rivers. She survives along with 6 children, Cia Zolen (Rich) of Three Rivers, Steven Hanes, Jr. of Sturgis, Nikki Riddle (Craig) of Schoolcraft, Lissa Lawson (Roy) of Schoolcraft, Kyle Hanes of Sturgis, and Kaysee Hegedus (Josh) of Portage; 10 grandchildren; and by 2 sisters, Joy Bussard (Tom) of Three Rivers and Patty Caniff of Grand Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant son, Alan Kyle Hanes.
Cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday Nov. 26, 2010 at the Eickhoff Farrand Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers with Rev. Father Mark Vyverman officiating and military rites provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
