Thelma Grace (nee: Swartz) Howard, age 94, of Three Rivers, and Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Three Rivers Health following a brief illness.
She was born in Three Rivers, on May 17, 1916, the daughter of Harley and Effie (Buck) Swartz.
Thelma has been a long time resident of the Three Rivers area. She was employed for over 40 years at the South Bend Supply Company. She was also a faithful member of the Bethany Chapel and enjoyed spending her winters in Zephyrhills, Fla. Thelma truly loved her family, grandsons, and great-grandchildren as well as her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne Wilcox, whom she married on Oct. 24, 1934; as well as her second husband, Earl Howard; one brother, Louis Swartz; and her daughter-in-law, Nancy Wilcox.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, one son, Wayne LaMar Wilcox Sr.; three grandsons, Wayne Loren Jr., Douglas LaMar, and Ken Lane (Laurie) Wilcox, all of Three Rivers; one sister, June Cooley, of Zephyrhills, Fla.; three great-grandchildren, Loren and Rachel Wilcox and Nikki Fincher.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Luther Ash officiating.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.
