Treva Sample, 88

Treva L. Sample, 88, of Riverside Drive, Mottville Township, White Pigeon, died Friday, Oct. 29 2010, at her home following an extended illness.

She was born May 9, 1922, in East Gilead, Mich., a daughter to William and Ilah (Hamilton) Graham.

She had lived in the White Pigeon and Mottville area most of her life.

On July 24, 1950, she married William A. Sample. He died Jan. 25, 2003.

She was a waitress most of her life at the Mottville, White Pigeon and Three Rivers truck stops. She worked at Continental Can in Three Rivers and at the Campbell’s Mushroom Farm.

She attended Faithfinders Church in Constantine and enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening and her dog, Muffy.

Surviving are her daughter, Cindra J. (Cindy) Sinkler of White Pigeon; son, Ronald C. (Terry) Freeburn of Brenham, Texas; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one step grandson; two sisters, Donna (Charles) Huss of Edwardsburg and Wanda (Edwin) Harker of Sturgis. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Larry Freeburn; granddaughter, Alissa Bradley; infant granddaugher and great-granddaughter; four sisters, Helen Boals, Doris Rasler, Edna Boals and Marilyn Teal; and one brother, Richard Graham.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Services are at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Faithfinders Church, Constantine with Pastor Tony Scott officiating. Burial will be in White Pigeon Cemetery at a later date.
