DeVon Wyman, 76

DeVon Eldon Wyman, age 76, of Constantine, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 29th, 2010 at his home in Constantine. He was born March 14, 1934  in White Pigeon Township to Ward and Helen (Arnold) Wyman.   He married Diana Sue Kiefer on November 23, 1966 at the Trinity Missionary Church in Constantine. DeVon graduated from Constantine High School and the University of Michigan. He was dedicated to both God and his country with a career of 23 years in the United States Air Force where he retired as Captain He served during both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and in several locations across the United States and Japan during peacetime. He earned a number of military decorations including the Air Force Commendation Medal. Following his military service, he worked for the Lear Corporation for 15 years, retiring in 1999. DeVon touched many lives as an active volunteer in the community. He was a member of the Arthur E. Stears American Legion Post #223 where he served as Adjunctant. He held a variety of church positions during his life including Sunday School teacher, song leader, financial secretary, and deacon. He also taught 4-H woodworking for a number of years and attended the Three Rivers Bible Church.
DeVon is survived by his wife; daughters Michelle Wyman of Constantine, Kayrn (Kevin) Beachey of Mendon, son  Jeffrey ( Melanie) Wyman of Lansing, grandchildren Kolton, Kody, Kelsey, and Kami Beachey and Matthew Wyman; brothers Roger Wyman of Georgia, John (Susan) Wyman of West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Wayne.
Relatives and friends will be received Sunday from 2 – 5 p.m.  at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held at the  Funeral Home, at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, with Reverend Jay Bailey and Reverend John Sears officiating.
Interment will be at the Constantine Township Cemetery with full military honors by Arthur E. Stears American Legion Post #223. Memorial contributions may be given to Gideons International. On line messages may be left for the family at www.eleyfuneralhomes.com.
