Frank Oldenburg, 86

Frank L. Oldenburg, age 86, of Constantine,passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at his home.

He was born in White Pigeon Township, on June 6, 1924, a son of Henry and Myrtle (Hagerman) Oldenburg.

Frank served six years in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

On Dec. 4, 1948, he married Norma Pein in Reno, NV. She preceded him in death March 11, 1995.

Frank worked at Wells Manufacturing in Three Rivers retiring in 1990. He previously worked as superintendent at Sterling Modular Homes in White Pigeon. In 2001 Frank received the Michigan Association of Police Chiefs, Citizen Award of Valor.

Surviving are his daughter, Julie (Frank) Bishop of Kodiak, Alaska; a son Robert (Cindy) Oldenburg of Constantine; grandchildren, Melinda (Brandon) Lee, Laura Oldenburg and Nicole Piercy; great-grandsons Cody, Travis, Dominic and Erric; sister, Myrtle Harnish of Mishawaka, Ind.; brother, William Oldenburg of White Pigeon and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters, Wilma Oldenburg, Clara Rose, Hazel Walls, Mable Drummond, Frances Harnish; and brothers Carl, John, Sam and Duane Oldenburg.

Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment of ashes will be in the Constantine Cemetery.
