Hilda Lane, 89

Hilda M. Lane, age 89, of Sherwood, passed away late Saturday evening, Dec. 10, 2010.

She was born Feb. 14, 1921, in Bronson, a daughter of Ora and Jennie (Laughry) Hoard.

Mrs. Lane had resided in Sherwood since 1945. Prior to that, she had lived in Bronson.

On March 12, 1938, she married Robert Lane in Bronson. He died in May 1973.

She had been employed by Colmer Division of Maxitrol Company in Colon from 1969-2006. Before joining Colmer’s, she had worked at Bronson Reel for several years.

Mrs. Lane was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Colon and she loved the Detroit Red Wings.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Paul (Marcia) Lane of Bronson, Marlin (Barbara) Lane of White Pigeon and Harold (Kathleen) Lane of Three Rivers; a daughter, Barbara (Wayne) Embler of Bronson; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Marilyn Lane; a sister; and two brothers.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering of friends and family for fellowship and a meal will take place at a later date, to be announced. Private burial of the ashes will take place at Bronson Cemetery in Bronson.

Hackman Family Funeral Homes Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, is entrusted with the arrangements.
