Sanford J. Taylor, 72, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away Friday evening, Dec. 10, 2010, at Sturgis Hospital Emergency Room.
He was born July 1, 1938, in Isom, Kentucky, a son of the late Amos and Myrtle (Slone) Taylor.
Mr. Taylor has resided in Sturgis since 1958 coming from Kentucky.
He had held supervisory positions in several manufacturing companies including Transogram, Sturgis Newport Business Forms, Sturgis Molded Products and Ronco Plastics all in Sturgis and Stant Manufacturing in Connersville, Ind.
Mr. Taylor enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and maintaining his properties.
He is survived by six sisters, Donna Haley of Sturgis, Nadine Taylor of Sturgis, Imogene (Ronald) Abner of Springfield, Ky., Marlene (David) Biggers of Camby, Ind. , Sharlene Fugate of Chavies, Ky. and Linda (Dewey) Grigsby of Chavies, Ky.; four brothers, James (Christine) Taylor of Radcliff, Ky., Charles (Bonnie) Taylor of Corinth, Miss., Ollis (Nancy) Taylor of Combs, Ky. and Wendell Taylor of Combs, Ky. and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bulah Williams and infant sister Brenda Taylor; and two brothers, Amos Taylor, Jr. and infant brother, Shelby Taylor.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Private burial of the ashes will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Howe, Ind., at a later date.

Memorial donations would be appreciated to Donna Haley, 204 Second St., Sturgis, MI 49091 for the establishment of a memorial scholarship in Mr. Taylor’s name.
